A focused team, not a large one
Volkmatrix builds software for companies that have outgrown their tools. Most of our clients come to us with a process held together by spreadsheets, a website that no longer reflects the business, or a product idea that needs building properly.
We also build and run our own product, Volkdesk, for self-study libraries. Running software in production is a different discipline from shipping it, and it changes how we approach client work — we have to live with our own architecture decisions for years.
We are deliberately a focused team rather than a large one. Projects are scoped so that the people who plan the work are the people who do it, which is why we quote per phase and decline work we cannot staff well.
